Biography

I am a PhD candidate employed at the University of Zurich working on the Glacier Lake Outburst Floods in Central Asia (GLOFCA) project implemented by UNESCO and aiming at the reduction of GLOF related vulnerabilities in the Central Asian countries of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. In addition to this I work as a scientific instructor for the women empowerment projects ‘Girls on Ice’ and ‘Adventure of Science: Women and Glaciers’ in Switzerland and Central Asia.

I completed my studies in geography at the University of Fribourg (BA) and the University of Zurich (MSc) and have research experience in the Chilean and the Colombian Andes. The focus of my interdisciplinary Master Thesis in the Cordillera Oriental of the Colombian Andes was on climate change impacts and adaptation. I was a contributing author in the IPCC 6th Assessment Report Working Group II.
