What we do

The EClim group investigates risks, impacts and adaptation options to climate change, focusing on mountain regions and its people throughout the world.

Our research integrates natural and social science disciplines, and we collaborate with stakeholders from practice and policy.

Our project portfolio is multi-disciplinary and cross-sectoral, with an emphasis on capacity building and climate policy.

Our geographic research area includes the Andes, the Alps and the Himalayas.

Based at the Department of Geography of the University of Zurich and the Department of Geosciences of the University of Fribourg (Switzerland), we are a multi-disciplinary team. We are geographers, climate scientists and  social scientists.
